Artificial turf in Richardson
Heavyweight, UV-stabilized turf on an engineered base, built for Richardson homeowners who are done with the watering calendar. Lawns, pet turf and putting greens, with Richardson’s watering rules explained below.
Richardson’s watering rules, and why turf changes the math
Richardson sits in both Dallas and Collin counties. Richardson limits watering with sprinklers or irrigation systems to two designated days a week by the last digit of the address: even numbers on Tuesday and Saturday, odd numbers on Wednesday and Sunday. Watering during rain or freezing temperatures, excessive runoff and poorly maintained sprinkler systems are all prohibited, and smart or ET irrigation systems need a variance to run as needed. A first citation can be settled with a $150 window fine. The city’s water conservation FAQ adds that sprinklers may not run between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from April to October. Drip irrigation, a soaker hose or a hand-held hose with a shutoff nozzle may be used any day, at any time.
Checked October 2026. Rules change with drought stages; the Richardson Water Conservation page is the authority.
Zero water
With strict local ordinances and tiered water rates, artificial turf offers a zero-water solution. A typical 1,800-square-foot lawn can save approximately 99,000 gallons of water annually, potentially reducing water bills by 70%.
Built for the Texas sun
We exclusively install heavyweight (73–111 oz total weight) UV-stabilized turf designed to withstand the harsh Texas sun without fading or melting. Does turf get too hot in Texas?
What we install in Richardson
Every install starts the same way: excavation 3-4 inches deep, Class II road base with decomposed granite, drainage, a commercial-grade weed barrier, then the turf cut to fit and finished with infill and power-brushing. The full six-step process is on our services page, and what sits under the turf is explained layer by layer in our base guide.
