Grapevine’s watering rules, and why turf changes the math

Grapevine prohibits irrigation or watering of any lawn or landscape between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Beyond that, the city’s Drought Contingency Plan ordinance, Chapter 25, Article V, Section 25-140 of the Code of Ordinances, sets the stages, and the city points residents to the Tarrant Regional Water District (trwd.com and savetarrantwater.com) for more information.

Checked September 2026. Rules change with drought stages; the Grapevine Water Conservation & Watering Restrictions page is the authority.

Zero water

With strict local ordinances and tiered water rates, artificial turf offers a zero-water solution. A typical 1,800-square-foot lawn can save approximately 99,000 gallons of water annually, potentially reducing water bills by 70%.

Built for the Texas sun

We exclusively install heavyweight (50oz-111oz) UV-stabilized turf designed to withstand the harsh Texas sun without fading or melting. Does turf get too hot in Texas?

What we install in Grapevine

Every install starts the same way: excavation 3-4 inches deep, Class II road base with decomposed granite, drainage, a commercial-grade weed barrier, then the turf cut to fit and finished with infill and power-brushing. The full six-step process is on our services page, and what sits under the turf is explained layer by layer in our base guide.

Lawns

Front and back lawns

Three lawn lines, from the everyday Signature 50 to the heavyweight Estate 84 and The Reserve, each with a published face weight, pile height and spec sheet.

Pet turf

K9 Guard Ultra for dogs

A full flow-through backing and a three-layer ZeoFill and Envirofill system, built for yards that dogs use every day.

Putting greens

Backyard putting greens

Tour Master Pro in Poly or tournament-grade Nylon, at a 0.63 in grain-neutral pile so the ball rolls the same in every direction.

Play areas

Playgrounds and play areas

High face-weight turf with shock-absorbing underlays and safety infills for impact protection.

After the install, our maintenance and repair work covers deep cleaning, power brooming, re-infilling, seam repairs and weed management.

Around a pool and patio the lawn lines are cut to fit: the turf is unrolled to acclimate to the Texas climate, then precision-cut around hardscaping, trees and borders for an edge-to-edge fit. Every line is listed with its specification on our turf range page.
