Allen’s watering rules, and why turf changes the math
From April 1 to October 31, Allen allows sprinklers up to twice a week on assigned watering days and never between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. From November 1 to March 31, watering drops to once a week on the primary watering day. Running sprinklers in rain or below 32°F is a violation of the City’s Water Conservation and Water Resource Management Plan. A hand-held hose, soaker hose or dedicated drip zone may be used any time, provided there is no runoff.
