What a Flower Mound homeowner told us
We were nervous about switching to artificial turf, but Green Guard Turf explained everything clearly and showed us samples. Now we wish we had done it years ago. The quality is outstanding.
Flower Mound’s watering rules, and why turf changes the math
Flower Mound limits automatic irrigation and hose-end sprinklers to two days a week, and prohibits them between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Residential addresses ending in an even number water on Tuesdays and Fridays, odd-numbered addresses on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and non-residential, HOA common-area and multi-family properties on Mondays and Thursdays. Watering by hand-held hose, faucet-filled bucket, drip irrigation, harvested rainwater or an on-site well is permitted at any time.
Checked September 2026. Rules change with drought stages; the Flower Mound Water Conservation page is the authority.
Zero water
With strict local ordinances and tiered water rates, artificial turf offers a zero-water solution. A typical 1,800-square-foot lawn can save approximately 99,000 gallons of water annually, potentially reducing water bills by 70%.
Built for the Texas sun
We exclusively install heavyweight (50oz-111oz) UV-stabilized turf designed to withstand the harsh Texas sun without fading or melting. Does turf get too hot in Texas?
What we install in Flower Mound
Every install starts the same way: excavation 3-4 inches deep, Class II road base with decomposed granite, drainage, a commercial-grade weed barrier, then the turf cut to fit and finished with infill and power-brushing. The full six-step process is on our services page, and what sits under the turf is explained layer by layer in our base guide.
Lawns
Front and back lawns
Three lawn lines, from the everyday Signature 50 to the heavyweight Estate 84 and The Reserve, each with a published face weight, pile height and spec sheet.
Pet turf
K9 Guard Ultra for dogs
A full flow-through backing and a three-layer ZeoFill and Envirofill system, built for yards that dogs use every day.
Putting greens
