Face weight measures fiber density — higher means more blade per square foot, which translates to durability and a fuller look over time. Total weight includes the backing system, which tells you how much structure you’re working with on the ground. Fiber type determines long-term performance: 100% Pure PE runs cooler, holds its blade shape, and outlasts alternatives on residential and luxury installs.
